Best Actress! (And Best Producer!)
There’s something incredible about making a piece of artwork and continuing to get reactions from it years later. I’ve experienced it a few times in my professional life, and I still love it when strangers tell me they enjoyed listening to Dragon Talk or that they dug a review I wrote for their favorite game. That’s why it’s heartwarming to continue to see Ex-Husband receive invites to film festivals and even win a prestigious award.
That’s right! At the Brightside Film Festival in New Jersey, our amazing star, Danielle Beckmann won award for Best Actress in Comedy. The awards ceremony for the festival was held on March 3rd 2024, and Ex-Husband was nominated for three other awards: Best Ensemble, Best Director and Best Comedy.
Not only was Danielle’s on-screen work on Ex-Husband absolutely stellar, she was also a wonderful producing partner. I had a great time working with her on bringing this movie to life! She’s a powerhouse making moves across the industry, just like her character Allison Chambers. Congratulations Danielle, on being Brightside’s choice for Best Actress in a Comedy and my choice for best producer. (Sorry, Timothy.)
As for other happenings, I’m still recording and publishing weekly Re:Engage episodes. We’re almost done with season five of Star Trek: The Next Generation. There have been some great episodes to discuss including I Borg and The Inner Light. Check those out here!
I wish I had an update on Dragon Talk but there is no news there, sadly. But, more happily, I have more than 130k words drafted on my fantasy novel, and I’m in talks to produce another short film this year. More updates soon! Thanks for reading!
