Into the Great Wide Open

A lot has happened in the last few months. The Election, the Olympics, the ozempics on our streets. For me, personally? Well, I finished the first draft of my novel. It’s sitting at 159,326 words total with 53 chapters plus a prologue, an epilogue, and a few interludes. While the draft is done, there is a mighty need for revision. Like, a lot of revisions, additions, cleanups and maybe even some cuts. I’m going to be working on that over the next few months. Wish me luck.

What’s the book about? Well, part of what I need to do is get better at pitching. Here goes:

Howling beasts walking upright like men threaten the frontier as Elector Caldure travels to the opulent capital with his unruly nephew, Carad. Alongside Wrock and Mundi companions, Caldure’s group of Humans uncover a plot that threatens the stability of Hovan’s Ring of Twelve.

I do have a working title for this book. I don’t think it’s very good but I thought I’d share it here:

The Chimera Stone

By Greg Tito

What do you think? No, don’t tell me. I know. It’s a work in progress. Like everything else around here.

Sooooo … I quit my day job. They always say not to do that, but I did it anyway. It’s OK. I got a new one. I’ll be working for the WA Secretary of State’s office in Olympia, Washington doing communications stuff. I’m not sure exactly what being a Deputy Director of External Affairs means, but I’m going to f’ around and find out.

Oh, and I shot, edited and performed in a silly dance video. You should watch it. Here it is on the YouTubez. I had fun for an afternoon and super enjoyed editing it together. I’ve got a lot of ideas bubbling in my head for videos which you may or may not find on that channel. So, subscribe?

You should definitely keep following along with Re:Engage! We’re in the sixth season of Star Trek: The Next Generation and have covered some fantastic episodes recently. Check out Chain of Command, both are good but the second part has too many lights. We also had a special guest in the Star Trek world – Bonnie Gordon is the voice of the computer in Star Trek Prodigy and she’ll be appearing Re:Engage to talk about Moriarty in Ship in a Bottle. Watch some Star Trek and Re:Engage with us!
