Kicking Ass and Making Moves
Hi there!
I’m always excited to make some fancy moves and I don’t just mean taking my bard’s turn in Baldur’s Gate 3. This time though, it’s all about pitching myself as a writer.
Ex-Husband is making moves across the country. At the Silicon Beach Film Festival, the short film I wrote and produced with some amazing people won a prestigious award: Best Dark Comedy Short! That’s a pretty wonderful endorsement of the awesomeness on display at the Chinese Mann Theater in Hollywood. Next up is the Orlando Film Festival, where Ex-Husband is screening on 10/27 at 4:30pm & 10/28 at 6:30pm. Unfortunately, I can’t make it down to FL to be there to see it, but I’ll report back on any feedback we get from the programmers. Fingers crossed for another award!
Re:Engage has been publishing weekly episodes hitting some highlights of the start of Season Five of Star Trek: The Next Generation. If you want to know where the memes come from, listen to our discussion on s5e2 - Darmok. Then Wesley Crusher returns in “s5e6 - The Game” as does friend of the pod, Cicero Holmes. He likes this episode way more than the crap he’s had to comment on in s1 & s2. Recently, two WGA writers from Star Trek Discovery join to discuss the seminal Unification two-parter that marks an appearance from Leonard Nimoy’s Spock. Check it out wherever you get fine podcasts!
I’m pretty much removed from posting at the website formerly known as Twitter. You’ll find more of my musing at Bluesky and Insta these days. Follow me on there if you can. I have a few Bluesky codes to join, if you are interested. And of course, I’m always open to appearing on your podcast to discuss anything from sci-fi, fantasy, D&D, Star Trek & Wars, and more! Hit me up on the contact page, yo.
A new non-fiction book proposal is in the works, I’m still writing the draft my fantasy novel with more than 118k words on digital paper, and the full-length screenplay I’m working on is firmly entering the third act! Making moves!
